In this lesson, we will discuss how to divide polynomials using the technique of synthetic division.
Synthetic division allows us to divide polynomials where the divisor is of form x-c. We can avoid the lengthy process in polynomial long division as well as the cumbersome subtraction of terms by writing down only the coefficients of the important steps in the division.
Synthetic division saves a great deal of time and has applications in the factor theorem, the remainder theorem, roots of polynomials, and more.
